Rafiki is the story of romance that grows between two young women, Kena and Ziki, amidst family and political pressures around LGBT rights in Kenya. Upon its release, Rafiki was banned in Kenya on grounds that it promoted homosexuality. Many took to the streets (in person and online). Many Kenyan queer organizers and their comrades across the world protested this alongside the mistreatment of Kenyan LGBTQIA+ community. Rafiki has made incredible impact in the lives of many and we hope the discussion afterward will be enriching on some of the topics raised in the film. RSVP Here: https://tinyurl.com/RafikiFilm
